What Is a Breast Lift?

Mastopexy (known as a breast lift) is a body contouring procedure that lifts and reshapes the breasts by removing loose skin and surgically tightening the leftover tissue to create a firmer, younger look. This body contouring surgery is reserved for women who have lost breast fullness and shape and who have breast drooping due to breastfeeding, weight loss, or aging. We offer this breast surgery for women throughout Kansas City, MO. By implementing the most state-of-the-art methods, we can choose the proper technique according to the degree of sag present, keeping in mind the desired aesthetic goal. Many factors may cause the breasts to lose bounciness or lower, whether from the expected aging process, pregnancy, or weight changes. This procedure at Kansas City Surgical Arts can revitalize a perkier breast with a wide variety of benefits to rejuvenate and enhance your appearance, such as:

  • Reduces breast sagging and drooping
  • Raises and firms up the breasts
  • Improves the form and attractiveness of breasts
  • Supports the breasts with a tighter appearance
  • Improves nipple location
  • Addresses breast imbalance
  • Provides a raised, bouncier, more youthful look to the breasts
  • Minimizes the size of areolas for a smaller, enhanced appearance
  • Decreases chafing beneath breasts

Am I A Candidate for A Breast Lift?

Many patients come to Kansas City Surgical Arts to ask about breast augmentation when a breast lift is actually the better option for their goals. Breasts that point downward in most cases need a breast lift to correct skin irregularities and lift the breasts higher up on the chest wall. If you have nipples that droop downward and your breasts look elongated, a mastopexy (breast lift) can dramatically help their appearance. To be a good candidate for a breast lift, you should be in good health and at a stable weight.

How Is a Breast Lift Performed?

Breast lift surgery takes about two hours or more and is performed while you are under general anesthesia. The timeframe of this treatment is dependent on the severity of breast size and sagging. The method used for breast lift surgery generally falls within two categories — these are based on the nature of the incision. The anchor technique (inverted-T) and straight-line vertical incisions are the most used types. After making the incision, any loose skin is carefully trimmed away along with unwanted breast tissue and fat. The skin is then pulled tight, and the breasts are brought up and lifted. In most situations, the size of the areola is reconstructed and reduced to match the new placement and shape of the breast. It is during this time an implant can be inserted within the breast if breast augmentation was discussed with Dr. Hlavacek ahead of surgery.

Everyone that I had any interaction with at this facility were beyond amazing!!! From the doctor to all of the nursing staff and the anesthesiologist, there wasn’t a question that went unanswered, not a feeling that wasn’t comforted…I had the most incredible experience and couldn’t be more impressed! I highly recommend this facility to anyone and everyone looking to have work done. You will NOT be disappointed.

Amazing staff, amazing Dr, and amazing results so far! From consultation to surgery, Dr Hlavacek did incredible. I got my breast augmentation surgery yesterday at 8am and he called me last night at 9pm to check on me. With surgery yesterday, they already look fantastic even with the swelling. To the point my husband said he would have paid double for them 🤣 I can’t wait to see what they look like when completely healed! Thank you all!

Dr.Baker was amazing! I was having issues on the day of surgery and gave him a call up around 10pm not knowing if he was going to answer, but he did and helped me tremendously with getting the prescription I needed right away. We had a little trouble finding a pharmacy so he did some research after our call and gave us a call back about 30 minutes later. He even gave me a check up call in the morning to make sure I was still doing alright. He saved me so trouble by answering his phone that night, can’t say thank you enough.

We were so impressed by Dr.Baker and his staff. I had a small complication prior to surgery , and Dr.Baker himself called me back and helped me. Then when I arrived for my surgery, my driver developed medical issues, and they took care of him as well! They were all so kind and caring, never rushed. Then Dr. Baker called back in the afternoon to check on both of us! I would give the very highest recommendation to anyone I know needing oral surgery.

Kansas City Surgical Arts is the best. The WHOLE staff is amazing and caring. It starts with setting up a consultation all the way through your procedure and follow ups. The front desk ladies, patient coordinator (Hannah) to nursing, (Bella, and Kim) and of course Dr. Hlavacek (the best), care so much for their patients. I would highly recommend KC Surgicial Arts.

About Us

Healthier-Looking Breasts

Breast lift surgery has altered the lives of so many Kansas City, MO women. If you have drooping breasts that get in the way of everyday activities or prevent you from wearing the clothes you want, a mastopexy at Kansas City Surgical Arts may be what you need. When you have your first consultation, a physical exam will be performed and your desired outcome will be discussed. We encourage you to contact our office to schedule a consultation for a breast lift.

How much does a breast lift cost?

In your initial appointment, Dr. Hlavacek will pay attention to your wants and goals before developing your unique treatment plan. After that, he can better estimate your price. When done well, a breast lift can significantly enhance your body, so it is important to concentrate on having an experienced surgeon with years of training, like Dr. Hlavacek, rather than costs. To help make surgery easier to afford, Kansas City Surgical Arts will help you find low-interest financing.

Do I need a breast lift or breast implants?

Whether you should have a breast lift, implants, or both depends on your unique concerns and goals. In many patients, a breast lift can improve the form and fullness of the breasts with no need for implants. Dr. Hlavacek will assess your physical condition and listen to your goals in your consultation, then decide whether you would benefit from a lift, implants, or an augmentation plus a lift.

Will my nipples be moved?

In most cases, the nipple-areola complex will be moved up during the breast lift. If your areolas are excessively large or stretched, then Dr. Hlavacek can incorporate an areola reduction during your surgery. This may be discussed during your consultation so he can choose the ideal incision pattern to use in your breast lift.
