With two decades of professional experience, Dr. Matthew Hlavacek is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, as well as a board-certified cosmetic surgeon in Kansas City, MO. Dr. Hlavacek graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO with his Bachelor of Science in biology. He then went on to the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Dentistry where he earned his doctor of dental surgery, followed by his doctor of medicine. Afterward, Dr. Hlavacek completed an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at St. Luke's Hospital and Truman Medical Center where he also returned years later to complete a general surgery internship. Following that, he attended Tulsa Surgical Arts in Tulsa, OK where he completed a cosmetic surgery fellowship.
Dr. Hlavacek is committed to sharing the knowledge of oral and cosmetic surgery he has gained throughout the years with the next generation of medical professionals. This has led him to serve as an assistant professor at Truman Medical Center and St. Luke's Hospital where he educates residents on oral, facial, and cosmetic techniques. Dr. Hlavacek has contributed significantly to academic research with his work being published in renowned peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. He has also been invited to deliver numerous lectures at conferences nationwide.

Kansas City Surgical Arts is the best. The WHOLE staff is amazing and caring. It starts with setting up a consultation all the way through your procedure and follow ups. The front desk ladies, patient coordinator (Hannah) to nursing, (Bella, and Kim) and of course Dr. Hlavacek (the best), care so much for their patients. I would highly recommend KC Surgicial Arts.
Amazing staff, amazing Dr, and amazing results so far! From consultation to surgery, Dr Hlavacek did incredible. I got my breast augmentation surgery yesterday at 8am and he called me last night at 9pm to check on me. With surgery yesterday, they already look fantastic even with the swelling. To the point my husband said he would have paid double for them 🤣 I can’t wait to see what they look like when completely healed! Thank you all!

Dr Hlavacek truly was caring and thoughtful. He took the time to explain every step of the procedure, which really put my mind at ease. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the office was kind and helpful. My first time going and I would strongly recommend them.
